I don't know if it will work in the automatic setting but it certainly does in the manual setting.

If you START so you can set it up properly with the device turned ON, VV will continue to think it is on even if you turn it off once rendering is well under way.

However, if the print to tape finishes and the device is NOT on, it MAY crash. I don't know. I have always caught it in time, myself. It works fine for me if I turn it back on before VV is ready to write.

By the way, my camcorder times out (stops running) after 5 minutes of inactivity, anyway. VV turns it back on when it starts to write. Still, I am like a lot of you. I like to turn it off.

i tried automatic rendering with the device off. a vegas message came up telling me turn the device on and it printed without a problem. but i had to have the device on at first to use automatic rendering (so vegas could read the start time on the tape). when pre-rendering started, i turned the device off and waited until it was done.

Just cancel the print after manual print to tapeand then automatic print, Or prerender and then all thats left to do render is the audio.
