Pro 11 not working with gtx 580

I have a machine with an older generation i7 cpu and a gtx 580 running windows 7 64-bit and CUDA works perfectly with mainconcept. Super fast renders. That PC was built about 4 years ago I think. But we needed to have a second pc, as a backup, for editing. It has a new generation(7th) i5 cpu and a gtx 580 running windows 10 64-bit. GPU acceleration is enabled and it says CUDA is available but when we render out the video its super slow. At first we thought it might be windows 10 so we reverted back to Windows 7. Then we found out that we cant get the windows security updates because of the new generation cpu. We havent installed vegas pro 11 on it yet since we reverted back to windows 7 because we now cant get the windows security updates. At the moment we are just kinda in limbo until we resolve that separate issue. Just wanted to check here to see if anyone could help out with the CUDA issue we are running into. Maybe its the new generation cpu and legacy version of vegas? Any suggestions?

thanks

It might be your graphics card driver version. In this spreadsheet you can see some "good" and "bad" drivers for the GTX 580 based on users' experiences. Click on the users's name to link to the threads that the reports came from: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-7FBumRiK9iWjreeJOn84_Jd_K7N1Vp_gRGmfsQl9lg/edit#gid=1932950844

Of course, make sure you have "Encode mode" set to "Render using CUDA if available" as described in section 2b of this: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-graphics-cards-gpu-acceleration-for-vegas-pro--104614/
