Pro 19 Screen Capture window shows bars instead of monitor image.

I am trying to use the screen capture function and all I get is bars in the video capture window, no image of my computer screen. The only option I have in video to capture is HDMI. This selection doesn't seem to be showing an image. The audio is showing up. You can see in the screenshot what is going on. I have windows 11 with a fast computer with G force RTX 3060 H video card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Up until Vegas 20 I had that kind of problem too.
Sometimes this can be solved by choosing a different GPU in the Nvidia app and sometimes by using Vegas Capture as a standalone program.
Fortunately, I no longer need that in version 20 and Vegas Capture works as intended.

My recommendation would be to use VEGAS Stream or OBS for this purpose.

All good to know. I had OBS on an old laptop. Is it totally safe to download? This is a new expensive box! I know a lot of open source programs are good, but some come with malware....as you know.
There are vegas screen capture instructions for much older versions, but I guess if it isn't working I am better off getting a dedicated program. I don't like having to record the entire screen anyway.

If the audio is showing up on the scopes can I still record audio?

I bought Movavi screen recorder.....It worked OK but you can't save the window sizes....also updating their software caused an error message on my computer. I don't think I want to use their programs anymore.

Thanks

@popfizz Yes, OBS is quite safe to download.... Honestly, i don't rely on Vegas Pro to do screen captures.

@popfizz Hi, I use Nvidia Geforce for screen capture, Alt+F1 to capture an image & Alt+F9 to record the screen. https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/geforce-experience/

I use it to update my graphics driver too
