Pro 19 Slomo plugin problems

Douglass-Ray wrote on 12/30/2022, 10:45 AM

On Vegas Pro 19, I've always had great results with the slomo plugin -- as slow as 10%, with perfect results. But now slomo has gone haywire. Attached are three clips: (1) the original clip, shot in 60 fps mts and stabilized (to mp4); (2) the same stabilized clip, stretched here on timeline to 6 seconds; and (3) the same same stabilized clip, with slomo plugin set to 47% (resulting in length of 6 seconds). Strangely, #3 (using the plugin), despite the interpolated fill-in frames, is terrible. This never happened before this week, and now it happens every time, even with the plugin set to 90%. What's gone wrong? Thanks!

You keep talking about "MTS clips" but we still don't know what's in the source media.

@Douglass-Ray
I'm using the same MTS files of my Panasonic cam, but 50p.
I'm not seeing your problems.
Which buildnumber of Vegas Pro 19 do you use?

It's VP 19, build 648. I've never had this problem before -- and to test, I downloaded VP 20 trial, and the slomo plugin works perfectly there. (I don't need/want VP 20 - but want to get VP 19 slomo plugin working again)

OK, the same as mine so that cannot be the reason.
My MTS event was first analysed and corrected by the Mercalli Stabilizer FX and than I added the Slomotion FX, after "Adjust Event Lenght" I added the Velocity Envelope and made 12 points with different velocity.
After all it played well and after rendering the same.

Make sure your project properties are progressive and that your render file is progressive.

Douglass-Ray wrote on 12/30/2022, 6:10 PM

DMT3 -- I feel pretty stupid -- I've always used a 1080p template for rendering. But in a recent reinstall, in my hurry, I selected 1080i -- which only becomes obvious on slomo. Thanks for making me pay attention!

@Douglass-Ray Easily done and thanks for reporting back. I've marked DMT3's post as the solution.
