Pro 8 not activating on new PC

I'm awaiting an email but figured I would ask, really hoping to edit some footage this weekend.

I initially installed the Pro 8 on my 32-bit XP machine while I was piecing together the new PC. I have the new PC running, Win 7 64-bit and when I went to activate the program, not only would it not recognize my optional authentication code, it would not recognize the code that was emailed to me either.

I tried to register online, and use the code to register later....nada.

I checked and rechecked multiple times that all the characters were correct, hyphens included. I replaced the zeros with the letter "O" and still it keeps telling me it's invalid.

The first PC is not running, or connected to the internet.

Any ideas?

At the top of this page, click My Account|My Software, and you'll see the serial number that applies to your Pro 8 software.

I currently have the correct serial number in the registration form, I entered the machine ID from the box that opened and I received an email with a new code..that didn't work either.
Now it doesn't recognize my machine id.

Does the registration form have to mirror my first one?

I believed I used a different e-mail this time and may have entered my full last name other than my initial...who knows,I honestly don't remember.

I used my main e-mail since it's easier to check from my cell on this registration.

If I need to uninstall from the 1st PC then that's fine also.

You have an account to use this forum. Use the info associated with that account.
When you activate on-line, it's done. You won't receive an email in response.

And you don't need to uninstall from the other machine.

I went ahead and uninstalled all of my Vegas components, restarted the PC, installed again and when I tried to register, said I needed to contact support again.

This time, when I received the email...not sure if it made the difference but it said to "type" the code in and instead of copy/paste, I typed it and it worked.

Whatever the reason, all is good, and thanks for the help.

I've never received an e-mail, if you do it via the internet it's a few seconds to setup.

But because you didn't follow the wise advice to not uninstall/reinstall multiple times, it sounds like it thinks you're pirating & you now need to contact support to get it fixed.

When I first tried it, and received the code via e-mail...the last two digits from my machine ID were missing on the email I received....could have been the root cause.

Either way, it's still on the same PC and the email I received had the full machine ID displayed and the program is working and registered.

So no worries..all is good.
