Is there such a thing? I have not used it a lot (I am on Vegas Version 12) but have found a recent need for it, but it is still a bit greek to me?

I found that and thought it was pretty minimal. No mention of how to use Preset templates, etc.

"Presets" or "Templates" are called "Collections" in ProType Titler and they could be used (save and recall) either for the effects parameters or for timeline elements.
Yeah, I found the collections but when I load them they replace the text I had or create new text.
Yes, that's the way ProType Titler's Collections work. You first need to recall a Collection, then you would replace the text. At least for the timeline Collections. Effect Collections can be recalled onto existing text.
