Problem, background player stops

I am using music match jukebox (I like it very much) but recently, when I click play in Vegas the player will freeze and i'll have to cont.alt.del. it. The same occured with winamp but windows media seemed to work fine. Since working on a movie isn't nearly as entertaining without music I must say this is inhitibiting my movie creating. Could it have anything to do with dynamic ram? changing it doesn't seem to fix the problem...would I want higher or lower (i have 383 mb available).

Sounds to me (initially) like there may be a common resource issue.

Not having a bunch of other information - I would suggest cleaning up your system (temp files, etc) and make sure you have the latest DirectX installed.

I think there are some common shared files that run different for Winamp than MP.

I havn't tried to edit while running Winamp (I don't use Music Match anymore)...but I can test that to see what happens.

In the interim - you could eitehr - only use WMP....or a walkman.

I cleaned the temp space with disk cleaner, i tried to install direct x 9a, but it failed...because i already have it hopefully. How do i check my version? The problem still occurs.

Either a file share error thing or something wrong with your setup probably. Right now I'm editing a project even have the audio track playing softly and I'm listening to a whole laundy list of songs on a DVD playing through Microsoft's Media Player.

I did the "correction" thing rather than full uninstall. Problem is fixed, thanks a lot.
