Problem burning dual layer DVD

Simple issue: I had a dual layer DVD, blank. Made a movie in Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10, rendered it, sent it to Architect to burn. When I was burning it in Architect, it said I have to insert a layer marker somewhere between minute 31 and 51 (total video length is 51 minutes.)

So I do that, then it burns the movie no problem. EXCEPT when I go to play the movie it will only play what is beyond the layer marker (i.e. I set the mark at minute 40, now the DVD starts at 40 and will not acknowledge that there is anything earlier.)

Throw the first disk away.

Go back to DVD Architect and find a place around minute 41 where there is black or at a scene change.

Insert a chapter point.

DVD Architect should use the chapter point as an option for creating a layer break.
