If any of the selected events are video, normalize will be grayed out. Just click (ctrl+click for multi-select) on the audio events you want to normalize and the switch will be active.

Sony EPM, is there any word on fixing the bug or whatever it is that flatlines an audio clip when you try to normalize it...you know the one where you have to chop off a bit of the head or tail to get it to work?
TIA,
Randy

" the bug that is still not fixed in V5"

Thanks Randy!!!
I ran into that the other night with 1 clip out of 12 doing the "flat line" thing to me. I recaptured the clip but still had the problem. I did my own workaround (compressor & wave hammer) but it's nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing this :-)

I found the problem. If Even group Selection in internal pref is set to true, normalize is greyed out (even if you right click on the audio event) unless you select Ignore Event grouping switch. This sounds somewhat illogical to me...

Changing internal prefs is a bad idea- nasty behaviors can easily result from any change, plus it makes it very difficult to diagnose a user problem when these have been changed.
