Problem Uploading to Web

I'm trying to uplooad a one minute video to a website (the free space that you get with Earthlink). It's a 103MB file, very few effects.
The site takes only: mpeg, mpg, mov and avi files.
I rendered the video as an avi (good) file, but it gets hung up when i try to upload. I've had to stop twice because it takes forever.
Can somebody tell me what settings should I change?

If it really is 103 meg file, that's WAY too big for an "internet friendly" video. One minute isn't too long so if you render to an MPEG or MOV you'll be able to shrink that down to about 10 megs. Even so, I don't know how much free space an Earthlink site will allow. But I'm pretty sure it isn't 100 megs.

Your problem is probably that the file size is way too big.

Rendering to mov worked fine, but the screen size is too small.
Is there a way to make it larger?

When you render to mov, wmv, rm or any other format you can decide the screen resolution and a bunch of other parameters by clicking the "Custom" button. You have to compromise between file size, screen size and overall video quality. It's up to you and what you believe is acceptable.

For Internet use I always try to make the file size as small as possible without loosing too much quality. Typically in my case that means WMV9 at a screen resolution of 320 X 240. If it's a very long video (over 10 minutes) I might consider a lower quality or maybe experiment with Divx.

Remember that almost no-one will download a too big file. I think the limit for people with broadband connections is around 20 MB unless it's something they're really interested in. For people with dial-up connections they normally think twice about it already at 2 MB. Most people in the world, with Internet, are still on dial-up. 3 billion people don't even have electricity, but that's another story.
