problem when copying Graffiti events on the timeline

This question is for those of you who have the full version of Graffiti 3.0.

I am now using this software very successfully BUT for one thing.

I setup a great looking Graffiti title effect just fine. This is applied to an empty event as an FX. I simply want to duplicate that exact title somewhere else on the timeline. You would think that you can simply duplicate that event and all the FX settings related to the Graffiti FX will come along. Nope! All you get is an empty event with the default Graffiti FX settings.

A sort of workaround is to save the garffiti settings for my effect while I am inside of the graffiti software - this allows me to re-load that particular setting when I need to. But still.... I can't see why copying the event inside of vegas does not copy all the settings along with it as well.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I see that I must have stumped everyone with this one... so I'll let you all know of a less bothersome work-around that I just figured out.

Seems you can save the Graffiti FX settings as "presets" just like you can all other video FX's in Vegas. Funny... but it didn't occur to me to try that until I had nearly finished this darned project. Oh well!

I am still interested to hear if anyone else has a better way.

Oh... and I don't know if this WAS my imagination - but I could swear a couple of times when I was ctrl-dragging one of these Graffiti FX events that it DID copy the FX that was applied. I am not sure if I did ANYTHING different (I must have I guess) - but after doing it wice it slipped back into the old way of doing it. I think I need a drink.

Liam, I too have the full BG3. Apart from your advances with this s/w I would reeeeeally like a "side-bar" - email - with you to understand how you got it to play ball. The recent update certainly assisted me. I'm now wanting to review video within BG3 and synch and use the K/Fs correctly . . .

When I get to my MONSTA! I'll have a go at the Preset. In the meantime why not "save" within BG3 your own Library of creations? Then you can choose from there - no?

Lost your email address - I know I have it here somewhere!

As for getting BG3 to show the video from Vegas inside it's interface I believe that is not possible. There is some descrition in the manual as to how to get a single frame of the Vegas video timeline to appear as the background but I think it states that you cannot have the actual video frames coming through. I haven't tried this myself yet.

My main problem before was related to the issues of alpha settings that seem to be cured by choosing one of the presents (other than the default) from within Vegas before launching into BG3. I also had a problem related to timing of the clips - this is where I was trying to do more complicated things in the interface and I was increasing the time and messing with the setting that controls how the keyframes are automatically stretched when you increase the time allotted to the BG3 effect. It was doing that which caused all my problems before.
