John,

I try to rename them and I get the message that I can't because the item is open somewhere else. But I have nothing else open just Vegas.

So just by renaming them to Vob instead of Mpeg should solve it?

Thanks!

Did you use the File - Import - DVD Camcorder Disc option?

rs170a,

Yes that's how I imported it.

John,

Thanks I'll try that now.

John,

That didn't work.

If anybody has any other suggestions I'm willing to hear anything.

Thanks.

1) Close Vegas
2) Restart your computer
3) Right-click on the file icon
4) Choose "Rename"
5) Click-drag your mouse to select the current file extension
6) Type in .vob
7) Hit the "Enter" key.
8) Try again to open the file in Vegas
9) Post back if this does not work.

It says the requested security information is either unavailable or can't be displayed.

I made share the folder is being totally shared, etc.

I will update my profile info.

Also as I go into these files, they're already VOB files.

Disable UAC (User Account Control) on your Vista machine?
Really dude, this is between you and your Windows Vista computer, and not in any way a Vegas issue.
