Problem with brightness

Now the key rame is solved, I can apply a simple effect without key frames on the all shot. I am increasing the brightness because some pictures are to dark but another problem rise at that step: I am editing a theater performance shot with 2 cameras. So I have a video track with a wide shot and another video track with medium and close shots. The wide sot track is below the medium shot track.

In certain cases I want to increase the brightness of the wide shot and do so. The cuts o medium shot on the track above don't have any effects.

BUT what happens is that when vegas read from a medium shot without any changes (no brigtness change) to the wide shot with brightness increased there is a small white flash on the cut! I tried to render only the ransition part where this phenomenon occured to see if it was a problem of resolution but nothing!
After many tests I noticed that it happened with the inceasing of brightness (in other word, the picture grain is bigger and whiter) and not with the decreasing of the brightness.

What's wrong!

First, rather than use the brightness/contrast control, use curves. Greater control without loss of detail nor fear of blowing highlights.
Second, as you use the Brightness filter, you'll not only see an addition of noise, but you'll also be blowing out any highlighted objects.
You might want to check into Steve Hullfish's book on color correction, it's an excellent resource.

Or you could get up to speed quickly and easily by just reading some of my FREE tutorials:

That link looks a whole lot better than the one I've been using:

Both have pretty much the same content. The Flash version I made some additons and some of the tutorials have different names. The Wideopenwest site was originally 10 MB of space they give to anybody that uses them as a ISP, which I do since they have very fast broadband service via cable. So one of the reasons I went to Luna was for only slightly more then I was paying for the "extra" space to contain what I had at WOW, I got 800 MB worth of storage. With WOW, once you use up the inital 10 MB they charge $2 for each additional 10 MB which is highway robbery at today's prices. For those that don't like Flash I've kept to older site up, but some day I'm going to use it for something else, but not till I get around to putting more on the Flash site.
