problem with external tv display

Can somebody help..I have a tv as a secondary through a x13 pro radeon card that works fine but in movie studio in the options/preferences tab/preveiw device tab i dont see my tv just .
OHCI compliant IEE1394/dv .How do i get it to see my tv as an external monitor?

Preview is done via firewire only, not via a secondary monitor on your graphics card.

You need a D to A converter that you can hook up to your firewire connection. Something like the Canopus ADVC 110 should do the job.

Most DV camcorders can be used for this as well. Computer DV -> camcorder DV, camcorder A/V out -> TV.

thank you for helping me i thought my card was enough.now i just wonder if it is going to use my processors instead of the one on my card taking away some of the load.

VMS does not take advantage of the GPU on your video card.
