Hi!
I'm using VV 2.0 for home video editing. My setup is PC(Win2000 Professional), a lot of software, including Vegas Video 2.0, IEEE-1394, Panasonic DS11 Mini-DV PAL, Philips TV 21".
Sequence of work:
After capturing in Adobe Premiere, media files opened in VV for editing. When the project has finished, it has rendered to a file (using PAL DV encoder of VV), and output back to tape (to a TV or VCR via camcorder) using Premiere.
I want an interlaced media all the way through a project in VV. Works ok, until I stretch a video EVENT which is a fragment (a slice) of a captured media (change its playback rate, or make video velocity envelope).
Expected smooth motion in a video event looks jerky on a TV. On a PC monitor it looks as smooth as expected.
I found, that changing from "Progressive" to "Lower field first" in video MEDIA properties (with addition of resample video), and setting "interpolate field" deinterlacing in project properties, leads what I've been looking for - rather smooth motion of an EVENT.
But, setting "Lower field first" unavoidably for all of the MEDIA, leads another fragments to loose its interlace nature (causing flickering on a TV and reduced vertical resolution).
BTW: I found that Adobe Premiere has an ability to automatic deinterlace clips (events) when its speed differs from 100%. Works Ok, but...
Premiere is a monster, uncomfortable software, for which I need several months to get used to.
Vegas Video is much more convenient for me, moreover, I got accustomed to Vegas Audio and Sound Forge for several years, so I can't believe I need something else for my work.
How can I get rid of this vicious circle in VV 2.0?
How can I tweak VV to deinterlace an EVENT, not a whole MEDIA in VV 2.0?
Will VV 3.0 do?
Please help.
Nickolas.
P.S. Sorry for my bad English.
