problem with importing an .avi file

When I import an .avi file to a new project the picture is bad (see http://postimg.org/image/yr78nludn ) and I can't find a reason of why it is so. Help?
I use Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0, Version 10.0 (Build 179).

It looks like you have a corrupted video file. Does it play good in another application such as VLC?

What version of QuickTime? Anything newer than 7.6.2 may give you issues.

Yes, it plays good in VLC, no problem at all.

Download a trial version of Raylight.
It's dvcpro wrapped as avi, unusual but not unheard of.

Vegas Pro 12 has native dvcpro support, you might download Platinum 12 trial to see if it does, too.
