Problem with Save Snapshot to file

AlKu wrote on 8/25/2018, 8:03 PM

Hi,

I'm new to Vegas Pro after I bought version 15. What I have it's bringing small clip to the timeline I went and created mask around the person. So, on the Preview screen after masking this person showed up against black background. So, I push "Save Snapshot to File" button and selected folder where I want to save it. So after dialog closed out I went to check it and nothing there. I tried both "PNG" (with transparent background after masking) and just a regular JPG, the same result. However when use Copy Snapshot to Clipboard I have not problem to save it in some other editor by pasting. Any suggestion? Thank you

When you say "nothing there", do you mean there is no file saved, or there is a file but no image? Are you checking in the correct folder?

Did you try several different destinations for your file? Like David I wonder if you were checking in the correct place. As an experiment try saving to your Desktop.

Working here. You need to show ScreenGrabs of your process.

When I said "Nothing there" I mean exactly, no file. As I said above, I tried both types of the file "PNG" and "JPG" with the same result. Different destinations as well, Desktop included. The file not getting saved. I'm newbie to Vegas not to PCs, I'm doing software development for living for 25+ years.

Need more information.

As I said above, I tried both types of the file "PNG" and "JPG" with the same result.

Very strange.

Different destinations as well, Desktop included.

What are you using to navigate to those destinations?

The file not getting saved.

I use a third party file search s/w. Do you have one of these?

Well, something has gotten its underwear twisted about. I’d suggest a Factory Reset or a VP Reinstall. What Build number are you using?

Whenever you save a snapshot, it shows up in your media bin in Vegas as well. Do you see it in the bin? If so, right click on it and see what folder it is stored in. If it does not show up in your bin, then something is definitely not working.

Problem solved, I just restarted Vegas and now it's working. So, looking back and trying to analyze what was the problem in the first place. I remember installing this morning trial version of Sapphire from Boris FX and when I opened Vegas after that intro screen stuck for a 5-10 seconds with the progress bar not moving and message "Loading plugins.." I do not see any connection but apparently something went wrong. Anyway, now looks like everything is working and I appreciate you guys for the fast respond to someone new. Thank you

Sure. But you did what all s/w developers do:

I'm newbie to Vegas not to PCs, I'm doing software development for living for 25+ years.

yah just hit the Reset Button - here’s that the restart. I was going to ask you IF you had recently added s/w or a Windoze Updupe.

I analyze the problem, in my case abnormal behavior of the program. Check destination, drives in this case, rights to write etc. Nothing changed, but apparently something did. So, I looked what I did today with it, installed Sapphire. By the way, do you know if only way to remove watermarks is to buy it even during trial period? So, I suddenly remember as told you above, some delay when I started Vegas Pro.

Well, if I had a source code for it I would've dig it, but I don't so, what other options do I have?

@AlKu - None!
