I put subtitles on a DVD I made. They show up just fine, but that's the problem: they default to on. Is there a way to default them to off? No commercial DVD's default to on so it's something with the disc I made or they have a blank subtitle as the first one...
Select the button that links to the movie with the subtitles. On the properties page, expand Action (if not already expanded) and change the "Set subtitle stream" attribute to "off"
If you want a menu where they can select subtitles on (rather than just using the DVD remote to turn them on), create a second button to the media and this time set the subtitle stream attribute to the appropriate language (which you also need to specify on your subtitle track).
For DVDA3, File -> Properties. Change Initial Subtitle Track to "Off."
Far as I'm aware, though, Default should've given the same result. Am I wrong? Anyone?
I'd say try clicking off the Activate Track button in Timeline view, but Sony has said that that button is only for preview purposes, anyhow, and has no effect on the burned disc.
