Problem with the V4 Bin after Capture

After i have captures clips, the bin in Vegas shows the clips as icons but there are no pictures on them and you can not drag them to the time line. They seem like ghosts.
you have to go to the folder were you recorded them and import them and then you can add to the time line
Any ideas as to what could be causing this , have had it for a few months now..

. . .i'm listening very hard to this one Z! "The Phantom Clip Bunny Strikes again . . . !" - I've had stuff go walk-about with Bins and things .. . . I even had a project totalled as a result of using Bins. I now use them with Heavy Duty Gloves and I put on Leather Knee Pads for protection too!

Sony still have the veg that had these Bins in and that they haven't been able to fathom it yet either. . .

Ghost clips fro some reason, there think they should be there, but are not there really,

same prblem! furthermore if I import such bins by dragging from the explorer, like "zcheema" another problem occurrs.

The situation is the following:

-project is PAL DV
-bins are are PAL DV (some properties as the projects)
-no FX are added
-just one video and one audio track

I try to render a segment of the bin (no transitions, no effects.. nothing but the bin!) (I render like PAL-DV) and V4 re-encode the clip instead of just copying the stream! During the rendering you can see the frame counter increasing slowly and all the frames displayed in the preview.

This problem seems to occurr only just after having acquired DV bins from the camera. If I shut down V4 and re-open a new session, create a new project and import the previously acquired bins the problems disappear.

"zcheema" do you have this problem too?

Robycos, never really used the bins that much, as every time you do an UNDO they all close and you have to ope it up again find the clip you want.

I can not drag my clips onto the TL, even though I can see them and high-light them, there are no pictures in them, just ghostly off-line ?. I have yo open explorer find the clips import and all is well again.

The above is after I have captured and the closed capture to work in V4e

I believe there is an issue with bins in Vegas

I agree---Bin behavior in Vegas--particularly on larger projects is irratic to say the least. Maybe we will luck out and they will redesign the whole structure in version 5.0---until then I just dont use em.
