Problem with Vegas Pro 8.0c install

Hi All,
I don't succeed to install Vegas Pro 8.0c because when I run the installation it asks for .NetFramework 3.0, so I clik download this file, BUT .NetFramework 3.0 downbload or installation always fail.

I have Windows XP Pro Service PAck 3.

Do anybody knows how to solve this pb?

Do you get any form of error code or message when the .Net install fails. If so best resource would be Microsoft's knowledgebase.

This is not the first time the .NET issue has popped up with XP

What you can try is download and install .NET3 directly from Microsoft. If that fails then you may have to reinstall XP. Install SP2 but go no further until you have .NET up and running.

A side note....Vista seems to have no install issues with .NET3..... just XP... so you may want to consider upgrading.

Hi yes, I downloaded .NET directly from microsoft but it does not work. In fact I had no such an issue with another computer with XP SP2!. Instead of reinstalling Xp with service pack 2 can I downgrade from SP3 to SP2?

Yes, you can uninstall SP3. I've have NET3 running under SP2 after I unistalled SP3 for another reason.
