Problem with yamaha scsi.

I just purchased a yamaha scsi cdrw today. It works fine
with ezcd creator but I like burning my cd's with cd
architect because it allows me to change the individual
volume of each song. When I start the recording process,
the time will start to count backwards from 20:00 (mm:ss)
but the percentage will stay at 0%. It does advance, but
very slowly. The time runs out and it's barely at 44%. So
the whole process takes about twice as long as it
should. Sometimes it doesn't even write the cd. After it
finishes writing the lead in it gives an error
reading "waiting for drive" and stops. I'm writing at 2x.
I tried 4x and it still takes about twice as long. Anybody
have an idea why? Thanks in advance.
