Did you make sure DMA is enabled on the drive.

What is it's master? The main Hard Drive, or a CR-ROM?

Need more details... (speed of the drive? 7200? or 5400 rpm)

It sounds like DMA isn't enabled.

DMA is checked by c drive next drive is floppy and a 3 drive is listed There is no place to check dma for them, 7200. im not sure but i think it is CR-ROM. I DONT UNDERSTAND BECAUSE i DID 2 HR VIDEO PROJECT FRIDAY AND EVERYTHING WORKED GREAT
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

are you sure you are capturing to the new drive, and that the temporary directory is on the new drive?

Check this in Video Capture: Options->Preferences->Disk Management Tab

Make sure there are no references to your old C: drive.

I have a laptop which has a removable CDRW-RW as E:. If I forget [and I do!] to replace my floppy drive with this CDRW, my external firewire drive [F:] becomes E:. This got me awfully confused - as did the VF software which jrstrueve alludes to.

Any help this?

Grazie

how do you put temp.directory to E drive
jrstueve wrote on 5/19/2002, 6:28 PM
Open the Capture Program.
Hold the Shift key as you select Options->Preferences
The Preferences dialog will open up, with an additional tab 'Internal'
Change the value for 'Temporary folder' to the correct drive:\directory

Be careful not to mess with other settings, as they could corrupt your installation.

Hope this helps.
Jon.
