Problems reinstaling Vegas Pro 22 build 194

WHE wrote on 1/6/2025, 7:02 PM

I managed to get through to Magix support before Christmas. To fix my issue with the hub they suggested reinstalling Vegas after removing the ini file located at C:\ProgramData\VEGAS\VEGAS_Pro_22. I did that but now when I try to reinstall Vegas it wants Microsoft runtime packages it can't find. I've tried manually hunting for them but I've been unable to get Vegas to install.

Has anyone else had similar problems trying to install Vegas Pro 22 Build 194? what to do? Thanks.

Was it the Visual C++ one? https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#latest-microsoft-visual-c-redistributable-version

Thanks for the reply, I guess not. I downloaded and installed the package without problem. When I tried to install Vegas I had the same issue. Here's a screenshot of the final error message:

Make sure you did the x86 package as well (I just linked to the x64 one, sorry).

Here you go: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe

I checked using Revo Uninstaller which versions I already had:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.40.33810

Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x86) - 14.40.33810

The latest version is 14.42.34433.0

I uninstalled the old versions using Revo and installed the new versions. When it came to installing Vegas The same problem persisted - similar error messages. Very frustrating and time consuming.

Can you show the new error message (is similar the same or not)?

I also have 14.42.34433.0 installed and VEGAS works.

The runtime error message was similar:

I get these kinds of error messages with both 14.40.33810 and 14.42.34433.0. I've tried with a previous download of Vegas build 194 and a recent download.

At this point you might try VEGAS support?

Maybe it's something simple like needing to install from an account with admin privileges.

Thanks, I cannot access VEGAS support. I've been to the service center with three different browsers and keep getting the message that I must enable cookies, except that I haven't disabled them and when I check the settings to confirm cookies are enabled they are.

Thanks for the link Reyfox. Unfortunately that link is for contacting support via a user form not email. As I mention here and here I can't access support via either support center. I'm waiting to hear back from infoservice@magix.net. Fortunately, they have created a ticket.
