Problems rendering

After I have set the format I want to render and click start, an error pops up that says
"Read only or Invalid Path." This happens on all fomats I want to render. The folder I want it to go to is "my documents".

From the Tools menu, select Preferences. On the General tab, look at "Temporary files folder". Is it valid?

yes it is. i just set it to the same folder all my videos go and it still says the same thing.
