Problems rotating videos

I've been happy with Vegas Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum for the most part, but this problem here is close to a deal-breaker.
I have cell phone video that, when transferred from the phone to my laptop, came in with the image turned 90degrees.
This issue occurred in the past with another device and I was able to adjust this without any problems. In the earlier case the source videos came from different devices and it rendered without any problems.

I tried the same approach in the present case and Vegas stalled out in the rendering process after what I assume was processing the (2) regular clips I had at the beginning of the movie. I tried rendering overnight and Vegas had shut down sometime before I got back to the computer.

next approach - rotate the clip and insert the rotated clip into the rest of the project. Well, the clip is less than 50 seconds as of the writing of this post Vegas has worked for 11 hours and close to thirty minutes and has about 43% converted. The source clip is 1920 x 1080.

Does anyone have any idea what is slowing a process that should take minutes down to days?
I'm running the software on a Core I7 - 7700HQ Laptop with 8GB of memory, 64bit Windows 10.

Any help and input would be appreciated

Something isn't right.

How are you rotating the clips? The best method is to right click on it, go into Properties and in the Media Tab rotate there.

Media Info of your source material would help. Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/
