Problems when trying to burn a BluRay-disc with menu.

What I have done so far is to open up the "BluRay -file" in Vegas and saved it under a new name. I then opened up the project settings and chose PAL 720x576 25i and saved.

No, you need to open the original .veg project in Vegas and export it with the PAL settings. And, while I am no PAL expert, shouldn’t it be 50i (I don’t know, that’s why I’m asking)?

You can use the same project in DVDA as you used for the BD with the same videofiles (HD Mpeg2).
Now change the projectsettings to

Let DVDA do its work in rerendering the videofiles and make the DVD.
The jigsaw comes because the video is interlaced and you look to the preview on a computerscreen. That you can make it less by the next setting in Option/Preferences

Hello Cornico, could you please send your answer which started with: "Maybe I am able to help, I also live in a PAL country. DVDA tells you that the bitrate of the video" ... once again. I don`t know why I couldn`t read the rest of your comment. Thanks!

Bo

Sorry Bo.
When I wrote that comment I saw only page 2 of this topic with your starting question and the comment of Red Prince.
When I discovered that this topic had 2 pages I had to rewrite that comment because your first question was resolved and there was another question.
My new comment anwers that second question, also because DVDA does a better job in downscaling than VPro does.

Sorry Cornico, but I still can`t find/read your complete sentence beginning with: "Maybe I am able to help, I also live in a PAL country. DVDA tells you that the bitrate of the video ... Could you please write this sentence once again because I´m interested in the second (missing) half of it where you mention the bit rate. I guess it`s important.

Kind regards  Bo in Sweden    Ps Where do you live? Ds

I live in the Netherlands and sometimes (in the summer) in Scandinavie, most Norway.

I don't know what I did write more in thnat first comment I deleted.
It also had no use because

I finally succeeded to burn a BluRay disc with menu.

Now my intention is to make a "copy" of that movie but designed for DVD and, of cause, with lower resolution.

My comment gives an answer on your following question

How do I preceed?

You must not make new files in VPro, but you must use the same project in DVDA that gave you succesfull a Bluray disc with the same video and audiofiles.
In that project you must change the projectsettings as I told you in my comment.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Because the resolution of the video must be changed, this task does a new render in DVDA better (and automatic) than to make a new file in VPro.

Lycka till!

I disagree here. It is better to render straight from the source rather than using the already rendered BluRay file as an intermediate, which is what you would do when you let DVDA re-render it for DVD... been there... done that.

Hello again, I followed your recommendation and tried to burn a DVD disc directly from Architect and with the BluRay file, that I earlier have successfully manage to burn a BluRay disc from, as the sourse. After half an hour in the rendering and burning process, all stopped and the following error message appeared. What to do?

I hope you can read it!

Kind regards Bo

Cornico wrote on 3/6/2017, 3:48 PM

Seams to me a conflict between DVDA and your DVD burner.
I never have seen this error, but maybe it helps to use the legacy disc drivers.
See the screenshot.

Another possibility is to burn the already made image with the burning software that came with the burner, Cyberlink InstantBurn 5 ?

Hi, I have checked the setting you mention above and it was already correct.

The possitive end of the story is that after I changed and chose another burner everything worked fine and I now have my DVD.

Thank`s all of you who helped my with my problems so far.

Take care!
