Problems while trimming video

I have Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 (I have installed the patch or update, whatever its called here) and I am trying to edit clips of video made with Game Cam which records videos while playing a game. When I do this it jumbles up the video so I am unable to view it without having slurred coloring of the clipped video.

Does anyone know how I can correct this?

Thank you

I'm hoping someone will correct me on this, but I don't think there's a simple solution. Game Cam can record in wmv or MP42 MPEG4 avi. MP42 uses DirectShow, which I think is still a problem for VMS. Your options are either to record in wmv, or to use something like Windows Movie Maker to convert existing avis so that they use a supported codec.

Obviously, I'm assuming that you're not already using wmv - if you are, then I've no idea!

Thank you for your reply. I checked over at GameCam and I believe I might have found the problem. I have GameCam Lite, only the full version of GameCam offers recording in .wmv format.

So it sounds like I might be recording video in a format not acceptable by Vegas?

Thanks again

That would be my guess, yes.
