problems with audio files (mp3)

When I open the project media tab and choose import media, I can not find any audiofile to choose. When I open the explorer window and choose my audio files library, I can see the files, but I can not move them to the timeline. When I try to drag to the timeline, I will only have a red Ø like a stop sign and are not able to move the music files to the timeline. In my version of Vegas pro 10, I have no problems. Can anyone help me out of this. My project has totally stopped with the background music.

Then in what software are you trying to open the files?
Is the software registered?

I also had no problem with my vegas10, but with my vegas11. However, I solved the problem.
I have solved the problem myself. My installation of Vegas pro 11 did not contend the support for mp3 files. Why? I'm not sure, but I got an update in a period that I did not have ITUNES installed on my computer. Result: I uninstalled vegas, reinstalled Itunes and made it to main player of mp3 files, then reinstalled vegas, and now it works, the mp3 is back in the supported files list. I don't know why, but my problems are solved.

Glad you got it solved, but I suspect it had to do with your Vegas installation rather than iTunes. Vegas doesn't use the QT libs to decode mp3.
