problems with Blu-ray authoring

Hi

Wonder if you can help - i have been using DVD Architect happily for a couple of years making my DVD's but have recently bought a blu-ray burner & decided to make Blu-rays instead.

I use Avid Studio for my editing & create AVCHD (.mts) files. The exact spec from avid is:
Video: H264 1920x1080, 24000 Kbits, 50.00 Frames/sec
Audio: Multichannel 5.1 38khz

When i initially import the file into dvd architect the thumbnail / icon appers and the preview works fine.

The problem starts when i go to set chapters - i double click the .mts file and it opens in the timeline but only the first frame is visable - the rest is black.

The audio peaks load perfectly & if i hit play you can hear the audio but the screen is black.

At this point, if i go back to the blu-ray menu preview the screen is black.

what am i doing wrong ?

(i have architect 5.0 running the latets build - 160)

thanks
Stu

Wrong? Avid ! ! Use Sony VegasPro for your video source

You appear to have DVD Architect Studio. The latest version is build 161. You should always say whether it is the Studio or Pro version you are using.

I don't think the Studio version accepts 5.1 audio with HD. You say 38kHz, but I presume you mean 48kHz.

So far as the video is concerned, there are many more critical factors than you have quoted, such as the format profile (for example, High@L4.0). You say 50 frames per second, but Blu-ray only supports 25 frames per second interlaced at 1920x1080.

The easiest way is to use software that is designed to run together, but by tweaking parameters you may strike it lucky. You really don't want the authoring program (DVDA Studio in this case) to re-encode your video or audio.
