Problems with GoPro video files

I have a GoPro helmet cam, and I'm trying to get the AVI video files into a Vegas project.

The GoPro files are 512x384 at 30FPS. Windows Media player can play the files fine, but in Vegas 6.0 only the audio appears to be recognized.

I converted a couple of the files to 720x480 using a trial version of something called Magic Video Batch Converter - those files work fine in Vegas.

Does anyone know if this could be an issue fixed in a newer version, or have other ideas?

Chances are that the files are Motion JPEG. Vegas v6 did not have MJPEG support, V8 does. Get the program called "Gspot" and see which video codec the files actually use, it can be downloaded here:
