Problems with Nesting Project Files

Hi,

Just watched the training video and learned about nesting project files into a current project.

Now I've tried to do this and things are not working out. The audio from the nested file is completely out of sync with the video. A 9 minute project started with the last 20 secs of audio from the project and there was no audio whatsoever for the remainder of the project.

Any thoughts.

Nested projects sound great to me, but I've never gotten reliable results with any of the 9.0 versions. Same problems you describe and worse. Assume it's just too buggy right now.

When I do nested veg files I will mute the audio in the veg as I will have the audio in the main mix as the nested veg will have markers audio sync is not a problem

LazyLeg,
I've not had this problem, but occasionally I do have small (mostly playback and rendering) glitches with nested projects.

A couple of questions:

1. Does this happen with other projects you try to nest or just this one? You could save as something else (like project 002) and import that and see what happens.

2. Can you ungroup the audio and alt-drag it back?

3. Does the audio show up correctly if you put the veggie in the trimmer?

Good luck,

And actually, now that I think about it, one audio problem I do get is with the .sfk files created. Sometime it ends up inadvertently making lots of them-sfk01, skf02 etc. And then keeps rendering them over and over, and making new ones afterwards, so it just keeps going!

The only I fixed this was to cancel all the renders, go back and delete all those files, then when I opened the project again, it made just one .sfk and was fine.

This only happened to me twice mind you, and in both cases there were several nested projects inside that nested project. There was quite a chain of nested projects in one instance.

So one long-shot suggestion would be to check the .sfk* files in the project folder and delete them, causing Vegas to build a new one that might work.

cheers,
kairosmatt
