Help, my regions seem to have moved after opening and closing a veg. I'm not used to using regions so it might be something I'm doing wrong. Also Is there any way to renumber/reorder regions so that they are in numerical order on the timeline? Thanks.
I did not know those tools. I found them here: http://www.nfatoys.com/moasoftwarellc
But once installed, I could not launch Vegas pro (crash at the end )
I uninstalled those tools - same problem with Vegas Pro.
(770)
I uninstalled Vegas Pro / reinstalled it -> OK
I reinstalled the timeline tools -> could not launch V P 12
Again, uninstalled everything and reinstalled Vegas pro 12.
@DiDequ
I really do not know why you are having problems with Timeline Tools. I have been using them for quite a while and never experienced any problems. The author, Gary James, is on the forum and will hopefully jump in, else send him an email. He is always ready to help.
You can manually renumber markers and regions by pressing Alt+6, and selecting Markers or Regions in the "Show" combo.
For both, you must select all items in the list, cut and paste them back (Ctrl+X) - (Ctrl+V).
But you cannot renumber Markers and Regions as one "grouped" sequence.
"But once installed, I could not launch Vegas pro (crash at the end )"
Hi DiDequ. This is the first I've heard of a problem like the one you describe. Usually when problems like this arise it's because of some environmental situation unique to a specific PC. I say this because there are many VP12 owners that been using TLT without any problems. For example, I had one really strange bug report that was unique to one user. It turned out that he had installed an Adobe software product evaluation, and later uninstalled it, and the uninstaller appearantly removed a Windows Font that I was using in TLT. That unique situation caused TLT to crash whenever it was started.
TLT, like many other Vegas Extensions have their state remembered when Vegas is shutdown. If TLT was open, it will automatically be re-opened by Vegas when Vegas is started. If not, it will not be automatically started. I'm assuming that following the TLT installation, you opened Vegas and started TLT at least once. Did it work OK at that time? I'll also assume that after you started TLT, you must have had it open when Vegas was shutdown, right? Because that would be the only scenario where TLT could be causing a Vegas startup problem [Vegas is trying to launch TLT during the Vegas startup phase, because TLT was running when Vegas was closed]. This tells me that TLT at least ran once on your PC. And that may help in tracking down the problem.
In a normal situation, if you had been experiencing problems with TLT while both it and Vegas are running, you could go to the TLT About Tab, and have TLT send a bug report. Since your problem doesn't allow that, You should look for the TLT Session log file. TLT has extensive internal error traps that detect fault conditions and logs them to a file. You can find the log file at: C:\Users\. The file name is TimelineToolsLog.txt. This file may give you some insight into the problem. If not, send it to me at. moasoftware.llc@gmail.com and I'll see if it gives me any insight into what's happening on your system.
After reading it, I uninstalled vegas again, and deleted the folder
C:\Users\Didier\AppData\Local\Sony
I had no folder Sony Creative Software
In C:\Users\Didier\AppData\Local\
so no Vegas Pro\TimelineToolsOptions.xml file in it ???
I reinstalled Vegas, your timeline tool and then Newblue
On first startup : a crash again,
message:

In english : probably No corresponding characters in the access path I suppose problem was due to the missing subfolder
"2013-11-27 17:40:23Z: Failed to open Registry Key in AutoAdjustDatGridView::RestoreTablecolWidthss()"
This error indicates that TLT could not access the Registry. Some of the programs settings are stored in Registry Keys, like the individual Column Width settings of the main display grid. I use the Registry for the most frequently used settings because they can be saved and accessed much faster than a file. Failure to access a Registry Key is most likely caused by insufficient access privileges in the host application - Sony Vegas Pro.
The other error is a non-fatal error that normally happens the first time the program runs because there hasn't yet been any program options saved in the XML file; so the file doesn't yet exist.
Are you running Vegas as an Administrator? If not, try doing that.
It should. But it all depends on the Administrative permission level that was assigned to Vegas when it was installed. If you installed Vegas as an administrator, then it should work normally at the same permission level you had when you installed it, without specifically running as an administrator.
This is the first time I've seen this error, so there must be a Registry permissions issue on your PC regarding the security level assigned to Vegas when it is installed.
