Problems with tearing (interlace flicker)

I'm shooting with a Sony VX-2000, capturing via firewire, and then rendering for DVD w/ CD Architect.

I'm having some problems with tearing (interlace lines on high contrast moving objects in the frame).

What settings should I be using/avoiding?

I've tried using the "reduce interlace flicker" option, but it seems to reduce the quality of image I'm getting...am I missing something (essentially, I'm just going firewire straight from the camera to PC, and then editing, and burning with all default settings at all stages.

ANY help is much appreciated!

Have you done anything to the footage?
This could be due to any number of things or it could even be something normal in DV.
Also how are you viewing this?
THe VX-2000 shoots interlaced, when viewed on a progressive scan device such as a PC you may well see interlace artifacts.

I just capture the footage raw (and when I view it in Vegas, it displays fine). But the final render of a project shows tear lines/flicker around high contrast areas with motion (ie: waving hands etc).

I'll noodle some more with the 'reduce interlace flicker' settings and scan settings in the render.
