Problems with Vegas and Antares plug-ins?

Hi, has anyone else had trouble using Vegas and Antares plug-ins and if so, any workarounds? If I
have either of the directx versions of Antares Auto-Tune or Mic Modeler enabled and I try to open
Vegas 2.0b, as it scans the plug-ins it crashes and reboots my system. If I disable these plug-ins Vegas
opens just fine. Cool Edit Pro doesn't have any problems with the same plug-ins and I don't have this
trouble with any of my many other plug-ins (except when I tried to test Waves 3.0 plug-ins - the Waves
2.5 plug-ins work just fine, though). Thanks for any advice anyone has. Tony

Well I have Antares Autotune V1.0 DX and don't seem to have
any problems with crashing. I put it into an "assignable
effect", is this what you did? or did you make it a track
plugin? This is the first time I've tried to use Autotune
in Vegas, usually I've used it in sound forge, it seems to
be working though. Except now I have a bunch of new
questions. Like can anyone explain to me how to use it in
Vegas, there's no "OK" buttons to do a destructable edit.
I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I was looking
forward to using Autotune in Vegas, because now I could
also layoff music tracks to compare the voice to when I'm
tuning vocals. Help, how do you use this program?

Hi Brian, Unfortunately Vegas crashes while opening so I haven't been able to try it as either an insert
or bus effect because Vegas never fully opens before it reboot s my system. I'm surprised to hear there's
no "OK" button because, yes, it would indeed be ideal to be able to use it while listening to the tuning
of other tracks. Tony

If you're talking about doing a destructive edit in Vegas
with a plugin, right click on the event you want to process
and choose Apply Non-Realtime Event FX... Choose your plugin
(s) and preview and then click OK - it creates a new file
as a new take in the event. It WILL calculate the tail, if
there is any due to the effect. Hope this helps.

Thanks Charles, I think this is what I'm looking for, I
will try it out later when I get some time.
Tony, what version of Autotune are you running, like I
said 1.0 doesn't give me this problem. I did read at the
Nuendo forum that Autotune was giving Steinberg software
some problems and Steinberg was working on a fix. It would
be nice if Sonic Foundry developed a similar type of
plugin, because in my opinion the interface on autotune
really sucks, and it seems to be Mac based. I say that
because after using autotune for 30 minutes my Windows
fonts all of a sudden turn into those Cheesy MAC fonts and
the program seems to crash on a regular basis.

Hi Brian. Yes, I'm using 1.0 as well. Since others aren't having the same problem, it is probably
system-specific to my system or it might be conflicting with another plug-in (the crash happens as
Vegas is scanning all my plug-ins as it tries to open). I agree with you about that AutoTune interface!
Their Mic Modeler interface is much better. Tony

I called tech support about antares problems a couple weeks
ago, still waiting to hear back...mine loaded Vegas ok, but
had MAJOR problems running autotune...causing a 6 db jump
in level...I suspect that this has to do with autotune
being a MONO only fx, while Vegas is capable of treating
most tracks or all tracks as stereo...one day maybe Ill
have an answer in e-mail to a solution....as regarding the
loading....you may have to uninstalll all your fx then
start with autotune then load each fx individualy to see if
it is just not getting along with some other fx...the
Blueline Plugin series does not like to co-exist with
others, for example
