problems with video capture

i just installed my firewire IEEE 1394 card which i know is compliant with video factory. My problem is that when i go into video capture a message appears, and at the top it says Booktree Capture Device, and down below says BtVid:Failure Loading
VxD driver...I have no idea what this means. I have a dv camcorder, windows me, a brand new firewire card which is OHCI compliant. Also at the bottom of video factory it says No capture device. No device control. I have properly installed the firewire card, because i can import video into my windows movie maker which came with my computer, but i can't use the video capture on video factory because this message keeps coming up. does anybody know what do in this situation? or has that happened to any of you? all i want is to be able to edit my videos...hope someone can help
thanks!

Pull down the Video menu and choose "Microsoft DV Camera / VCR" from the list. This will select the firewire port intead of the analog capture card that you apparently have installed. If that choice doesn't show up then you either don't have the 1394 drivers installed, your camera isn't connected, or it isn't turned on.
