Processor Scheduling

I'm trying to improve rendering m2t and have plenty of memory....

PROCESSOR SCHEDULING can be selected to apply more of itself to PROGRAMS or to BACKGROUND OPERATIONS. Since rendering is a Background Operation, shouldn't BACKGROUND OP. be selected?

Any m2t rendering suggestions are welcome. I'm in 8 bit - had to give up on 32 bit. THANKS!

I'm pretty sure that rendering is a program, not a background operation.

Thanks. So when I'm my rendering crashes and when I try to close and i get the message: Background Operation is happening and Vegas can't shut down bla bla bla... I wonder what that background op is that it's referring too?

I think it is a seperate program which is running along with the main app, in a sense running in the background of the main app.

I think that program mode provide faster human response, so application that intract with the user will have better response time.
When you select background, it schedule processes based on i/o and fair allocation and does not set higher priority to human interface.
In another way - program mode - better response time. Backgroud mode - better throughput.

If you don't use your mouse/keyboard during rendering, then both algorithm will provide the same result.

It is also recomended to reduce all non-required application - like screen savers, outlook etc.
