Processor Speed

I am contemplating stepping up to Vegas Pro and purchasing a new HP desktop. According to Sony, their recommended processor speed for HDV processing is 2.8 GHz and the HP platform I'm interested in has only an Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad processor Q9300 advertised at 2.5 GHz. Will I be disappointed with a 2.5 GHz machine? Thanks

The faster the processor the better your experience with Vegas.

With that being said, you have four processors pumping out 2.5ghz of computations. You will be fine with what you got.

If you are opting for Vegas pro 8 then you are at the right place to get all the help you'll ever need.

BTW I have the Q9300 and don't have any problems.
