proDAD Adorage Disappointment

I'm very disappointed with the proDAD Adorage transition plug-in included with Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0. Every time I try and use it I find it EXTREMELY confusing and poorly documented. As a matter of fact, it's from a German company and they help files are so poorly translated and minimal, they are literally useless to me. There apparently is no stand-alone manual available either. As a matter of fact, when I select the Menu, Open manual... from within the plug-in absolutely nothing happens.

It appears that Sony includes this because they probably are paying next to nothing for it and then they can claim they have "advanced" transition effects.

Does anyone have any idea on where I can find better information about how to properly configure and use this effect? Even the proDAD website is nearly useless as parts of it are in English and other parts are in German!

I wish Sony wouldn't do this kind of silly crap and either include high quality effects and charge a little more money or just leave junk out of the software.

Sorry for the rant--frustrating.

Steve,

That is a pdf manual. Not sure if you have V1-9 or V10 loaded, but they are reasonably similar in terms of operation.

Try [url=http://www.prodad.de/support/files/adorage-help-en.pdf].

Fore more tutorials, see - http://declic-video-fx.com/language/en-US/proDAD/Tutorials.aspx

proDAD also used to offer starter kits for Adorage & Vitascene http://www.eventdv.net/Articles/News/Breaking-News/proDAD-Offers-VitaScene-and-Adorage-Starter-Kits-51347.htm. You may be able to ask proDAD support if they are still offering it. Although note that Vitascene works with Vegas "Pro", but does not work well with Movie Studio (workarounds are needed)

I'll echo Electro Fox:

There's an Adorage plug-in?

I'll echo Electro Fox:

Same here. Did this come with an earlier version of VMS?
Markk655 wrote on 11/26/2010, 10:32 AM
Not sure if it came via VMS in the past....I think the OP and I used to use the same NLE prior to VMS. That NLE installed many plugins onto the system. Any updates to the system would also update the plugins for some other NLEs as well, if they were installed.

I remember it used to come with Pinnacle Studio, but I have never seen it with VMS and I have used it since version 6.

EditGuy,

Yup, that is what is what I was referring to.

Sorry guys...my bad. Apparently I was confused because I did NOT get the ProDAD effects with my most recent VMS HD Platinum 10.0. I had forgotten that I have a version of Pinnacle Studio 11 installed on my system which I rarely use and apparently, this ProDAD effect as well as one called Vitascene and Heroglyph came with Pinnacle Studio but also show up in Vegas. That's why I was confused. That might also explain whey they are a little flaky in Vegas.

I do appreciate the manual and tutorial links though. I think these will help a lot and if I can get them to work in Vegas in addition to Pinnacle Studio (which I loath having to use) that would be a bonus.

Thanks again and sorry for the confusion.
