proDAD Mercalli V4 Stabilizr & cmosFIXR Package Deal for Vegas Pro 14 not working on VP15

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-15-mercalli-stabilizer-v4-missing--108353/

Hello everyone to whom it may concern,

I noticed a lot of disappointment and angryness about the limited proDAD Mercalli VP4 Stabilizr & cmosFIXR plug-ins functionality -VP14 only- in this forum. And I understand this.

I would like to add my say about this. Even when the proper post looks locked. Going from VP14 to VP15 the proDAD plug-ins will not work because proDAD don't want us to can do that. I was never attended to this and personally feel misguided too. If it was clear before the purchase I would have not bought that package deal. The reason for upgrading from VP13 to VP14 was the combination with the proDAD plug-ins. Now the reason for not upgrading to VP15 is the same. I stick to VP14.

Sometimes, there is no new, or just limited, functionality to add to software, and only necessarily to stabilize it, repair the errors from untested processes or hasty coding. That is not a big deal but this should be an update, not an upgrade.

But from a commercial point of view however there must be a new version every year to maintain the wanted -by shareholders- turnover.  The wheel has to turn constantly. As a consumer I feel that I am there for Magix -and all the third parties with limited or light version offers- to pay again every year and not the other way.

With limited new wanted/needed functionality you cannot motivate these high prices anymore. Whit new so-called package 'deals' from which we again don't know what the future status will be we are seduced to buy again and again. I think the pricing should be straight for what you get. If there is no -or very little- new functionality that should come with the proper price. Like VP15 from VP14 for, let's say, something like USD 35,00 would be right for me if I look to the new functionality.

Also I personally do not understand why a NewBlue Subtitler Pro 5 (one trick pony) plug-in needs to cost so much more as Vegas Pro itself. Which is way more complex to make. All these extremely high prices from Boris, NewBlue, ProDad and all the others are not any longer to motivate according to my opinion. These prices are from the Dark Middle Ages (Mordor) and needs to be rebalanced and normalized nowadays. That's the reason I just don't buy it.

From what I feel (or believe) is reasonable VP15 may cost me USD 89,00 from start. NewBlue Titler Pro 5 USD 45,00  proDAD Cmos USD 35,00, proDAD Stabilizer USD 35 USD. The two proDAD Mercalli V4 Stabilizr & cmosFIXR plug-ins together USD 50,00. No more than that. And to use with every new Vegas unless it is absolutely not possible. But that is totally different from not wanting you use in a new VP version and not having informed you about this. We need a better world without people or organizations being mean or tricky one you.

I also do have the feeling that some members of the forum have the intention to move the subject  away from painful conclusions or trying to normalize it and neutralize any negative elements (keep them calm).

I love Vegas since version 8 and are not walking away from software shortcomings. It is still the best program to work with. But one cannot hold old price strategies as everything is rapidly changing and coming cheaper.

If I was the king of Magix I would say; Make what people really want and really need (learn from the Sony era). And calculate realistic prices based on newly added functionality, competition and free alternatives. And let's be totally clear on what you get and don't get. Also from third parties.

So to Gary Rebholz and Magix I say; keep up the good work and learn from your users. And be clear on what you sell.

For now I will wait and see what VP16 or VP17 has to offer to justify the purchase.
