Printed manuals, packing costs, etc. Frankly, I think its a good thing people are encouraged to download rather than get packaged software. I'll usually download something if it's for personal use, but here at the office, I get the packaged goods because I don't know who else will need access to the computer/software.
Interesting you mention 'packaged' and 'printed materials'.
I ordered my last minute discounted upgrade for V9 Pro yesterday morning and received it today. Wow!
I chose 'packaged' and while previous 'packaged' orders included a small handbook and foldout card for commands etc. in a plastic bag, this one came with a product box but no manuals or cards of any kind. Just a foldout leaflet with install instructions and activation key. Plus the product DVD, of course.
Is that what everyone else is seeing? Just wondering, too...
I just ordered mine this morning. So I'll let you know! :)
And had I known that was all that was in the package, I might have done things differently. I was really hoping for one of those spiral bound notebooks as I find them a valuable reference sometimes.
I believe when it was first available for purchase a lot of people opted for the boxed version due to the past experience of getting the shortcuts and starter guides, but there was a thread a while back that documented the same experience you have undergone in that you did not receive any manuals.
Perrone,
I totally agree. Only reason I opted for the packaged version was for the starter guides and cards. had I known they are no longer shipped, I'd have saved the shipping costs and gone for download.
