Program crash with JPGs on Win 7 64bit

Hello,

New to Platinum 9.0b (build 92) and really like the program. My problem is that after working with my videos (.m2ts and .mp4) I added pictures, and now my project crashes every time when I select a picture (.jpg) and try to re-size or crop it, or just trying to change the duration.

I don't get any specific error messages, just the usual "Program has stopped working" Its weird that it crashes on pictures, and not on video.

I'm using Platinum 9.0 on a new Win 7 64biy machine (9gb RAM, Geforce GTX 295, Intel Core 2.67) and using G-Raid device to store media for disk speed.

If anyone can think of anything that might help I'd really appreciate it. Is there a pay option for support?

Thank you!

How large are your pictures (pixel dimensions, not file size)? Where did they come from? Seems like they must be either too large or whatever produced them used a very poor JPEG encoder. Try opening a few of them up in a photo editor and resave them, perhaps resizing them smaller if they are huge. You could also try saving them as PNG instead of JPEG and see if that helps.

Hi Thanks for the feedback, the Images come from a Nikon D90 and the dimensions are 4288 x 2848, 300dpi, bit depth 24.

I will definitely lower their resolution and try again, but in my laptop running Win 7 64bit from (M17x) the projects have yet to crash, it works beautifully. I have been trying hard to figure out what makes it work on the laptop but not on my workstation.

I'll follow up if degrading the image does not work.
