Assuming that Vegas Pro actually opens before crashing, try going to Options/Preferences/Video and turn GPU Acceleration to Off - that's if its not already off.

The acceleration must be enabled. vegas is useless without enabled acceleration (it renders in 4k for a very long time).

It would be helpful if you could post your system specs, especially about your video card as that seems to be central to your issue.

+1 plus the MediaInfo of the used sourcefiles
plus if you upgraded already to build 424 with a lot of repairs
plus the installed drivers for your GPU(s?)
