interesting stuff...
Ive been shootin PS for as long as i caan remember, but recently ive had to work with mixed formats (25p and 50i) and afew things ive noticed are quite profound..
- 25p slowmo is PERFECT at 50% considering were using a 2:2 pulldown, i can only assume that Vegas is using the reference frame as an ACTUAL frame (not frame/field doubling)
Supersampling this makes it even better..
Footage shot in Frame mode however doesnt have this cadence...
would be interesting to hear what sony say about how Vegas deals with progressive scan...
Its sharper, MUCH sharper than 50i... and there is no interlace flickering or strobing..
Running it side by side to ACTUAL slowmo'd overcranked HVX footage downloaded and its virtually indistinguishable in SD (on a PC anyway)
Im thinking that if Vegas behaves this way with 25p footage, maybe those wanting to work in 24p SHOUDLNT remove the 2:3 pulldown if they re wanting to create slow mo clips...
what r ur thoughts ??
