Project Buffering

Hi there!

I work on quite substantial projects where lots of external media is added (sometimes around 500 gifs and pngs are added to the timelines, as well as subtitles over a 50 minute video). The style is much like "isaacwhy" on youtube if you want to get a jist of what I'm talking about. My problem is that, as the project gets larger, it takes sooooo long to tab in and out of VEGAS. Like 1 minute of buffering each time I tab in and out, which is seriously annoying if I want to import new media that I have to download from youtube or mp3's etc.

Is there a way around this without doing the obvious - upgrading my pc?

I am currently using VEGAS Pro 22.0 Build 250

Thank you so much!

In Options/.Preferences/General, uncheck "Close media files when not the active application'. In the past on some quite large projects (2 hours +) with this option 'on', it could take a couple of minutes before the timeline became accessible again after flipping back to Vegas Pro.

Please note however, that the option needs to be 'on' if you want to link directly from an event to another program such as a preferred audio editor.

Wow this worked for me, thank you so much Dexcon. Such a simple setting that I kept glossing over.
