Project from V19 cannot be opened in V20

Hi,

I cannot open a project I made in Vegas19 inside Vegas20.

When opening the project it tells me it cannot locate files that are clearly in their respective location.

After "relocating" them one by one I get the following error (see screenshot)

Once I click ok, I am greeted by an empty project.

So... tell me again... Why did I pay for an upgrade to Vegas20?

Maybe any 3rd party plugin was used which is not exist in V20?

No, I didn't use anything external besides the newly added GL transitions. If I open it in V19 everything opens just fine.

@philipw29 How are you trying to open the file? From VP20 and browsing to your file?

@EricLNZ I tried it both ways, by opening the file itself with VP20 and by opening it from File -> Open inside the menu.

Also, when I ignore all the files the project/timeline does show up, but once I try replacing the missing files I get the same error as above.

@philipw29 ... when you installed Vegas Pro 20, did you also install the Deep Learning Models (AI FX) for Vegas Pro 20 (version 20.0.0.0)? It would have been one of install options with Vegas Pro 20's installer. If it hasn't been installed, go to point 7 in https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-where-can-i-download-vegas-pro-and-other-vegas-software--104782/?page=1 and download and install the DLMs for VP20 from the direct links.

I'm not sure, but perhaps the GL transitions use AI.

@Dexcon No I haven't installed it... I am not sure if it was installed with VP19, but I could've skipped it as well there.

@j-v I might give it a try if all else fails.

@philipw29 And what did it say when you clicked on "Details"? Without that, it's hard to say the reason why. I've opened plenty of version 19 projects in 20.

@jetdv It simply lists the files, that's all.

When I ignore them and try replace each file by itself I simply get the error without a "details" tab.

Also, installing deep learning didn't help, and yes I rebooted my PC.

I'll continue editing my current project with 19, but hope I can get this fixed soon.

It doesn't say anything about the files - perhaps why it doesn't like them?

If you start a new project and drag one of those files to the timeline, does it work?

What are the details of those files? What kind of video do they contain? Perhaps you changed some settings that let them work in 19 and those settings need to be changed in 20?

There's certainly no reason it shouldn't open in 20 if it does in 19.
