PROJECT GONE. ZIP. ZERO. NADA.

The one reason I stopped using PC based editors was because somehow, someway at some point, a project I spent hours editing would somehow then disappear. I threw my Pinnacle in the trash, and have used Final Cut Pro for years. this year, I got tired of buying add ons for Apple. Now I have Sony Vegas, and it's great. Until tonight, when the system locked up and turned itself off without warning. When I rebooted it, all the media files were there, but the edited project time lines were blank. Yep, back to square zero. 7 hours fo editing, gone in the blink of an eye. I am assuming I need to now go back to Final Cut Pro. Amazing. Any thoughts? Anyway for recovering the lost timeline project?

Look for a file with the same name as the project but ending in .bak. Vegas periodically makes a backup copy of the project while you are editing. It may not have your last few edits, but it will be a whole lot better than starting over from scratch.

I tend to save the project periodically anyway, and after each major set of edits i may save it to a new name. That way i can go back to previous versions if i need to.

Thanks, figured it out. Now I cant get anything to render. This is really frustrating, wont meet my deadline.
