Sorry, if I misunderstand your question - but why not ALT+PrtSc when the Project Media window is open - and then CTRL+V in an open Paint or Word or ... ?

Snagit can capture the entire scrollable area to an image.

Einer and Robert:
Thanks, but the PrtSc gives me an image of the screen, and that has two problems. First, I want an editable text file and second, the window has too much information to fit on one screen.

I have Snagit, but I've never gotten it to work with scrolling the window for text capture. But thanks for the tip.

Sadly, it doesn't look like you can copy/paste from the Details view. You can do it in the Edit Details window but that's not what you want.

I think Veggie Toolkit has the ability to output the project Media details to text.

Here's a couple options (neither really good).

First, make sure your Project Media Window has the "Details" view.

1) SnagIt has a "Copy Text to clipboard" option (which can be saved to a Rich Text .rtf file), or
2) Merely "select all"->"Cntl-C" in the Project Media Window and paste to Excel (make sure you use the tab delimiter when "Text to Columns"

The reason I say neither of these is really good is that both only copy the visible window. (Maybe you have huge monitor or you can rearrange to column headings so the useful ones are visible).

No problem capturing scrollable text with Snagit 10 in Vegas.

In Vegas you can right-click in the Project Media panel, then select View from the pop-up menu where you can select the columns you want displayed.

Jerry, yes, you're correct -- vertical scroll only for capturing text. You would have to undock the Project Media panel and extend the right end to expose the remaining columns before using Snagit.

If you only need media path names or event names, you could use Vegasaur to create markers with names, then export the markers to any of several formats.
