Project not burning onto DVD

Friends and fellow users of both Vegas Movie Studio and Archetect,
For some reason, my movie project (that contains picture, movie clips, text and background music), is not burning onto a DVD; but instead believe it is burning to my local C drive. The LOAD icon is not recognizing my DVD drive, and thus door does not open and burn is NOT onto a DVD. This is a new problem, and MAY be a hardware issue.
Assuming it is..... what file(s) do i / can i put onto a flash drive pertaining to this project and move to another computer that i KNOW the burning works?

Thank you in advance for your help.

If it's burning to your hard drive, you're pretty much there, mjd!

What steps are you taking to burn your disc? Are you selecting the option to create DVD from Movie Studio or DVD Architect Studio? Also, which versions of the program are you using? (Versions 10 and 11 of Movie Studio have different output options.)

Meantime, can you confirm that you're actually creating DVD files on your hard drive? If you are, there will be a VIDEO_TS folder with several .vob files inside.

Steve,
first; thank you for replying; much appreciated. I am using Version 8.0a of Movie Studio, and version 4.5a of Architect Studio. I have gone through the entire process for many projects with no problems over the years. This has just come up after installing both onto another machine at home. My process is developing the project in Movie Studio, then "Make a DVD", which loads up Architect. When there I go through the process of "Prepare", then "Burn". When burning on the machine I always used, it burns right to a DVD; and I'm done. NOW... when working on the 2nd machine, it does NOT burn to the DVD drive. That is why I am thinking there is a burp with the drive, and not really with the software, however i CAN read from that DVD drive.
Thus.... can i just grab that file or files and move them to the other machine of the drive i know burns to the DVD, and burn them there? Just need to know what files are needed to do such.
Thanks

After you follow the option screens when you burn your DVD from DVD Architect, your last screen should show your computer's burner listed as your Device. Does it show as your Device?

Also, can you confirm that, even if you don't burn a disc, you are creating a prepared file (VIDEO_TS folder full of .vobs)?

Steve,
Your GREAT suggestions got me to experiment and try something. I took the group of files that were created, and placed them onto a machine that the burner DID work, and low and behold, it burned onto a DVD directy from Archetect; a bunch of .vob files as you indicated. Tested on a DVD system, and all is good as a work around. Many, MANY thanks for you advisment, suggestions and help.
Best regards.

Steve.... or anyone,
In re-visiting this issue. Initially I was able to do a workaround to get the files burned onto a DVD by getting the files copied onto a flash drive and moved onto another computer. But.... the issue still exists. When I am in Architect, I have always, "prepared", then "burned" the file. When burning, the screen shows visual progress, and I USED to hear the drive burning away. NOW, though.... it is not burning onto the DVD, but onto the hardrive. Is there a setting that I have missed for it to recognize the CD/DVD Burner?? THe burner does work on other applications. Thanks for any further diagnosis. MUCH appreciated.
