Project notes in Pro 18

JRey wrote on 8/16/2022, 5:17 AM

Hi

In Pro 18 I have the project notes tab but no button to add notes. I have created a region and a marker but still nothing. If this feature works in Pro 18 can someone please explain how to use it and more importantly is it possible to export the notes to write a storyboard around?

Thanks in advance.

John

In the lower left hand corner of the "Project Notes" tab is an "Add New Note" button.

Thanks @jetdv

I found a video of Pro 19 where you could click on a note and it would take you to that position in the timeline. This does not seem to be available in Pro 18, is that correct?

@JRey  Hi, do you get this option when you create a note?

JRey wrote on 8/16/2022, 10:26 AM

@Former user  Its in Pro 19 but does not seem to be in Pro 18. So to answer your question no.

Yeah, that was an upgrade with 19, just like the ability to share those projects, project media, and their notes with other editors online via cloud stoage was added to VEGAS 20 (subscription version only... this is what project notes was created for all that time ago, they were preparing for online collaboration).

Why subscription only for that feature? It contains a subscription service, the cloud storage, all the online subscription services are only available if you subscribe to VEGAS Pro 365. It costs the team a monthly fee to give us those features, so they can only give them to us if we're also paying monthly. However, unlike Adobe, you actually do get your money's worth out of subscription services when you subscribe to VEGAS Pro 365, not just access to the software. It also comes with a stock audio/video clip library with 1.5 million audio and video clips you can use in your projects.

Thanks @fr0sty

But I am sticking with Pro 18 as it does not throw as many errors on my machine.

That's odd - 19 and 20 are both much more stable on my machines...

Yes, that was a feature added to notes after version 18.

I am now convinced that most of the issues with Vegas are probably machine related and I have just accepted that for what it is. One day I will treat myself to a new computer, until then it's 18 ;)
