Project windows not displaying properly...

Stuart-Rauh wrote on 11/23/2020, 12:12 PM

While working on various projects in Vegas Pro 18, the panels in the upper left corner of the layout get "scrambled". It seems to happen whenever I refer to those panels for a tool or media. The "scrambling" is not limited to any one window. It happens in Project Media, Explorer, Transitions, VideoFX, Media Generator etc.

I've included a screenshot of what I'm talking about as it's the best way to show what's happening. When rolling over the scrambled display some parts are refreshed back to normal but they "re-scramble" after the mouse cursor moves to something else.

My machine is Windows 10, Intel I9 9900K, 64GB ram, 1.5T SSD system drive and Nvidia 2070 graphics card with 4GB of video ram. Drivers are up to date.

I'd appreciate suggestions on how to prevent this from happening because it's very difficult to stay focused on the video project when the tools become more difficult to use.

Thanks!

I assume you have Nahimic-related application like Sonic Studio 3 or similar that came from Realtek audio driver devices installed.

Do you use the latest build of VP18? (build 373 ?)

Try go to Internal Preferences (press Shift while click Options, then go to Internal...),

Here find "GPU acceleration for Windows Platform Foundation (WPF) panels", then change TRUE to FALSE.

Let us know the update.

Yes, I'm using build 373. I made the suggested change and so far the distortions are gone! Thanks so much for the information!

Glad can help! 🙂

You can keep the settings like this, but however, in case you didn't use any Nahimic-related applications (like Sonic Studio 3 I mentioned above), you can safely uninstall it. (so far I don't need this application)

This computer is built on an ASUS Gaming motherboard. I didn't install Sonic Studio 3 and Sonic Radar and I don't use them, I believe they install with the supported driver for the motherboard. I'll bet I could remove them but they'd probably get automatically re-installed at the next update. Given that, I'll use your solution for now. Thanks again!

@Stuart-Rauh Good to see that the fix works as expected.
